The Autumn Majesty Encore Azalea is a compact-sized Encore Azalea and reaches a mature size of 3' H x 3' W.
Try this fuchsia purple blooming azalea as a foundation planting, accent, border, hedge, or container plant. However you use it, you really can't go wrong!
This variety is naturally compact, with a rounded growth habit. Therefore, pruning is traditionally unnecessary with this low-maintenance variety.
Autumn Majesty Encore Azalea Care
Hardy from USDA Zones 6-10. Furthermore, the Autumn Majesty is one of the most cold-hardy Azaleas around and is capable of surviving down to -5° F when established.
Provide 4-6 hours of sun daily for proper blooming. The morning sun is preferable, as intense afternoon sun can stress the plant. Less than 4 hours of sun can result in decreased blooms and less dense foliage.
The Autumn Majesty Encore Azalea, like most azaleas, prefers slightly acidic, rich soil with good drainage.
During the first growing season of your new Azalea plant you will want to water regularly. During the second growing season, water 1-2 times per week. This will help your Encore Majesty to produce deep roots which will help ensure its success in the long run.
Fertilize in early spring with balanced, acidic plant fertilizer. Reapply fertilizer again in early summer to promote faster plant growth.
